A word from the author:
Thank You, Doris was originally written as a collaborative between four people, of which I had the great pleasure to be the fifth. Our aim was to write and perform a one act comedy which drew from more traditional comedic forms and blended them with more contemporary conventions. Essentially, the play that we produced married a modern penchant for black comedy and satire, and shrouded them behind a Coward-like veil. It was great... but it could have been better...
This is essentially what has spurred me on to develop a new version. It seemed a shame to leave such a good play (...in my mind) as it was, when it still had so much potential to be darker, and to be funnier. I wanted to expand upon the characters, and learn more about them.
Thank You, Doris is soon to enter production, with casting taking place over May and June.
